What is CINAHL?

CINAHL is a powerful health database with article references from over 3,900 journals dating back to 1937. Students can search over 1,000,000 articles related to:

  • Allied Health
  • Alternative Therapies
  • Biomedicine
  • Health Administration
  • Consumer Health and more

CINAHL also contains the full text of more than 750 journals, instantly available at the click of a mouse.

CINAHL offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, educational software and audivisuals, as well as evidence-based care sheets.

Accessing CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature)

To access CINAHL from theROCK>Library link: select Article Databases → Nursing. CINAHL appears near the top of the list of linked databases.
* If off campus, authenticate with your Library barcode number (found on your Northwestern ID).
