Self-help Guide for Navigating the Library

I am looking for a thesis or dissertation.

Open Access Theses and Dissertations Databases

Many universities choose to make their theses and dissertations available online through open institutional repositories. Use the links below to search for open access theses and dissertations.

  • PQDT Open is the open access version of the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses database.
  • EBSCO Open Dissertations indexes open access dissertations from institutional repositories.

Searching for Theses and Dissertations in Library Search

On the left side of the screen under "Resource Type", limit your search to Theses & Dissertations.

The results will be either theses and dissertations that you can request from other CLIC libraries, or open access theses and dissertations you can access online.

Find Theses and in Worldcat.org

Worldcat.org searches Dissertations library catalogs from around the world. Search Worldcat and limit to "Thesis/dissertation" on the left side of the screen to discover theses and dissertations at other libraries.

Dissertations found in Worldcat are most likely in print or microfiche format, and only located at one or few libraries. You may have to request the dissertation via interlibrary loan.
