Boolean/Phrase (supports Boolean or exact phrase searching)

Find all my search terms (puts "and" between all of your search terms)

Apply related words

Also search within the full text of the articles

Limit Your Results

Full Text (all reviews are full text)

New Records (Only see the most recent records)

Reviews with Comments and Criticisms (Reviews have recieved feedback from users)

Year of Publication—Protocols (Searches only protocols in a given range of years)

Date Last Assessed (Range of years when record was last assessed for validity)

Records by Review Group (There are 52 review groups covering various areas of medicine)

Document Type (Reviews are systematic reviews, Protocol are reviews in process)

Recently Updated Records (Reviews can be updated to stay current with new studies)

Year of Publication

Date of Last Edited Version / Most Recent Substantive Amendment

Cochrane Limiters

How Can I Narrow a Search after it's Been Placed?

After you have placed a search, click items under "Narrow Results by" or "Limit your results" to further narrow your search.

Limit Your Results

  • A few Limit Your Results options appear again on this screen. Try clicking and dragging the sliders under "Limit Your Results" to narrow the range of dates included.
  • Note: you can click on Show More in the "Refine your results" list to change the limiters you have set.

Narrow Results By

  • Subject

NOTE:  As limiters are added by clicking items under "Narrow Results by," they can be found in the "breadbox," the first box in the left column.  Click on the arrow to expand this box.  Any limiter can then be removed by clicking on its "X."
