Over the summer the Berntsen Library will be shifting from CLIC to a new consortium called MnPALS. The process will require our system to be frozen from June 4th until July 8th, and some library functions will be unavailable. What does this mean for you? See below for our Library System Freeze FAQ.
Can I check out books during the freeze?
Yes, you can still come into the library and check out physical books.
Can I return books during the freeze?
Yes, but they will not be cleared from your account until after July 7. Due dates will be extended for you during the freeze. Renewals may also not be available for all loaned items until after July 7.
Can I request items from other schools during the freeze?
No.
Can I check my library account online during the freeze?
No.
Can I access electronic articles and databases through CLICsearch during the freeze?
Yes. During the first week of June, CLICsearch will become Library Search. Towards the end of the freeze there will be a period of around a week when search results for electronic materials will be incomplete. After that, functionality will normalize.
Can I go to other CLIC schools (Bethel, Concordia, St. Catherine, Hamline, St. Thomas) and check out books in person during the freeze?
No.
