Google Book Search

Books published before 1923 are in the Public Domain, so the full-text of many historical books may be found via Google Book Search.


Additionally, some primary sources have been published in book format, and can be located in the library catalog or via Google Books.

Interlibrary loan

Use ILLiad, Northestern's interlibrary loan system, to request books and articles from libraries outside of the CLIC consotrium.

Search Worldcat.org to discover resources from libraries around the world (over 1.5 billion items).  The "Find a copy in the library" section displays holdings of an item, arranged geographically with the nearest library first on the list.  Use ILLiad to place an inter-library loan request for books not available at Northwestern.
