Evaluating Websites

Remember the top five things to consider when evaluating websites:

1. Accuracy
2. Authority
3. Objectivity
4. Currency
5. Completeness

A website's domain can tell you something about its purpose:

.com = commercial

.org = organization (advocacy)

.edu = educational

.gov = government (informational)

1. Where does each source come from?
2. What is similar and different about the two sources?
3. Which source would you cite in your paper?
4. Why would you cite that source?
